MARTIN MCCLELLAN TROOP E DELEGATE

One Troop One Team

Troop E Union

Home: Welcome

Members of Troop E, fall has come and summer has gone. It was a busy summer with a lot asked of our members in Troop E. I know a lot is being asked of all members with us being short staffed, and the mandates coming in massive waves. You the members did a great job handling all that was asked of you. I’m hoping with duel academies being in session that the new recruits will bring much needed reinforcements to our ranks. This process takes awhile. ATO’s were pulled from the stations, and our training staff being asked to do more than ever in my career. This is a heavy lift for everyone. During the summer I responded to numerous critical incidents throughout the Troop. These incidents were highly dangerous, but handled with a highest level of professionalism by the members involved. If those involved need any further assistance or questions please reach out as soon as possible. Members still have many questions about the current contract negotiations. This process can be and is a long process. The PBA is negotiating in the best interest of all our members at all times. The union will not bring a contract to our members unless we believe it is fair, and in line with the duties asked of our members in their work capacities. I know I always update everyone with “please be aware that rumors move around the troop quickly” but please refrain from believing the contract rumors. The union can’t wait to update the membership on contract developments, but at this time it’s still being negotiated. These firm updates due to the negotiating process will come when we are able to report the news. Please stay patient. We are all on the same team, and the negotiating group is trying to bring the best contract forward as soon as possible. We have also had transfers that not just brought new members to the stations recently but effected zone and Troop leadership. Leaderships roles specifically with zone 2 & 3 having new commanders. I’m looking forward to working with all the new troopers and commanders as time goes on.

CHANGES IN TROOP E

Over the last few weeks there has been some changes within the Union for Troop E and the State. I have taken over the acting Treasurer Role for the PBA and Rich Cunningham is the Acting Troop E Delegate. At this time these are acting roles, and with the upcoming election for the position of Treasurer we will see what the election brings. I have currently took over the role of Treasurer and my day to day duties have changed. I want to let the members of Troop E know, I am still here for any and all questions. I have the upmost respect and confidence in Rich to handle the Troop role as delegate, but I am still here. I am committed to continuing to assist in any way for anyone who needs union assistance. We are having two union meetings coming up next week. The first will be Wednesday in Auburn and I hope anyone who can attend does. It’s not just a good opportunity to talk, but it’s also a great opportunity to have a fun night hosted by the PBA. The Auburn meeting will be 11/15 at 6pm at Curley’s Tavern. The second meeting will be 11/16 at 6pm at Umi Japanese steakhouse in Victor. Please all that can attend please try to make time to stop by.
